“We Ought to Pay Our Debts” Despite Constant Tax Cuts For Super Wealthy, McConnell Chides Student Loan Debtors [VIDEO]

Whenever a Republican enters the White House, there is a common action. GOP Presidents tend to issue a massive tax cut for the wealthy. While they claim that the savings will trickle down to the middle and lower class, that doesn’t ever seem to happen.

Forgiveness for student loans would seem to be a good option for the country. Both Republicans and Democrats are struggling with student loans. Forgiving them could mean a boom in the economy. Mitch McConnell, though, thinks that they should be forced to pay their debts.

During a weekend interview on Fox News, Dana Perino asked the senate minority leader about Joe Biden’s recent pause on student loans. “I think in this country,” McConnell responded, “it’s important to remind people that we ought to pay our debts. We all pay our debts. And with regard to extending the moratorium, quoting Larry Summers again, he said it’s exactly the wrong thing to do in the middle of this over-heated economy producing this rampant inflation.”

The Kentucky lawmaker continued, “This administration just can’t seem to get their act together on the economy. That’s why the Americans people are so down on the president.”
