WATCH: Walz Mocks Donald Trump and J.D. Vance's Idea of Small Government

Tim Walz gave a rousing speech in Milwaukee on Monday and took time to mock J.D Vance and Donald Trump's idea of a small government.

While many blue-collar voters support Donald Trump and J.D. Vance, the two men couldn't be further the working class. Vance is a Yale Law School graduate whose political career has been bankrolled by billionaire Peter Thiel. And Donald Trump, of course, grew up wealthy and inherited a real estate empire from his father.

The Democrats are offering something different in Kamala Harris and especially in Tim Walz. Walz spent decades both in the teaching profession and the Army National Guard. And when Walz speaks to blue-collar voters, it comes off as authentic and real.

On Monday, Walz knocked the idea that Donald Trump and J.D. Vance want small government, hinting that they only want that for themselves. The Minnesota Governor explaine:

"I remember a time when Republicans talked about things like freedom, they meant it. But that’s not these guys. Trump and Vance, when they talk about freedom, means government should have the freedom to invade every corner of our life. They talk about small government, small enough to be in your bedroom, small enough to be in your exam room, small enough to be in your library, telling you the things you should make decisions about."
