Vice President Kamala Harris was the clear winner of the ABC News presidential debate on September 10th, and while most Americans might think they've seen enough thanks to Donald Trump's unhinged performance, the Vice President doesn't agree.
After accepting CNN's formal invitation to debate Trump on October 23rd, the Vice President immediately challenged her opponent to do the same.
Trump almost immediately turned down the rematch, claiming it was "too late" in the election season for another debate because early voting had begun in some states. Twitter users were quick to remind everyone that Trump's final 2020 debate with then-candidate Joe Biden took place on October 22nd.
Vice President Harris taunted Trump after hearing that, knowing even as she spoke that he wouldn't dare expose himself to more humiliation by debating her again.
The debate was still on the Vice President's mind later that evening, earning a mention during her remarks at a fundraiser in New York City on Saturday night, saying: “I think we should have another debate.”
“I accepted an invitation to debate in October, which my opponent seems to be looking for an excuse to avoid when he should accept,” the Vice President told the crowd. “He should accept because I feel very strongly that we owe it to the American people, to the voters, to meet once more before election day.”
Vice President Harris might be able to trigger Trump's ego again, as she did at the debate just to get him to debate her a second and final time, but the popular consensus is one Trump himself understands: that he'd be a fool to face her again.
