Hours before the only Vice Presidential debate was set to air live on CBS (without fact-checking), the predictions were coming in hot that Ohio Senator JD Vance would be at a serious disadvantage when challenged by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on the lies he's told about Haitian immigrants in his state.
Vance has not backed down from spreading the false--and repeatedly debunked--story that legal Haitian immigrants residing in the town of Springfield were stealing and eating house pets.
The same lie led to Donald Trump yelling "They're eating the dogs! They're eating the cats!" at his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, which he lost so badly that he's refusing to meet his commitment for a final debate later this month.
Vance has also been revealed to have deep ties to white supremacist Curtis Yarvin, who's called for an end to the American government and the installment of a dictator.
The country will once again see two very different visions for its future, as they did in the Presidential debate, says DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison.
The historically unpopular Vance is seen as "mostly unfavorable" by voters and is currently polling at a whopping 40 points behind Coach Walz, who has decades of military and public service behind him. While Vance did a stint in the Marines, he--like Walz--never saw combat.
While Coach Walz prepared for the debate with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Vance worked with Trump's lawyer Alina Habba.
The candidates will be fact-checking each other at the debate, and the odds are that the former high school football coach has studied his playbook.
