Elon Musk, who is openly supporting Donald Trump for President, reacted to the alleged assassination attempt at his Florida golf property with a threat of his own.
In a since-deleted tweet, Musk quoted a user named "Doge Designer" (rumored to be one of many alt accounts operated by Musk) who asked, "Why they want to kill Donald Trump?" and then added "And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala."
Musk's tweet got millions of impressions and made a lot of people mad before he deleted it, but screenshots are forever. Just like Blood Diamonds, right Apartheid Clyde?
Former Republican lawmaker Adam Kinzinger, who has endorsed VP Harris and who spoke at the Democratic National Convention, replied, "Dude I’m not kidding here, get help. This is unhinged and dangerous."
"#DeportElonMusk" was trending on Musk's own platform, which is odd considering his ego. But users were demanding his arrest after such a blatant threat against the President and Vice President.
Musk is also deeply involved in the Russian disinformation campaign to impact the 2024 election and is expected to be named later this week when Merrick Garland unseals more of the indictment that was revealed early this month.
The White House has already responded to Musk's tweet.
After Musk deleted the tweet, he tried to explain it away as a joke that nobody got, mainly because he's the unfunniest person who's ever lived.
Musk infamously hosted what was later deemed the worst-ever episode of "Saturday Night Live," so he should know nobody thinks he's funny by now.
