The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is in its closing days. And the Fox News hosts have been painting the teen out to be some kind of avenging hero.
Tucker Carlson opened his show last night by painting Rittenhouse as the victim and the shooters victims as criminals. And according to the Fox host, those protestors should have been put down by the cops in the first place.
Carlson told viewers:
“Well, that’s not a civil rights protest, that’s not people fighting back against depression, systemic racism. That’s just people destroying things they didn’t build. That’s people wrecking our civilization. In no normal country would that be allowed. You’d be put down immediately with force, that’s why we have police. You can’t allow that. because if you do allow that, people will get killed, as they did.”
The irony of the of the statement is how the Fox News host has covered the 1/6 insurrection. Rather than calling out the Trump supporters out for beating Capitol police officers, he has called them patriots. His network even allowed the Carlson to air a special where he claimed the riots were a false flag operation.
