WATCH: Tucker Carlson Fantasizes About Men “Thrashing” Sex-Ed Teachers

Parents won’t always agree with or support the curriculum at their kids’ schools. That’s not entirely unreasonable, and it’s one of the reasons that there are channels for addressing it. When it does happen, an email to the teacher is usually sufficient. Most parents, hopefully, don’t decide that it’s time to send in men to physically assault school staff.

Tucker Carlson, however, has a different take. (Is that a shock?) He can’t believe that when teachers acknowledge the existence of LGBTQ+ people, gender roles, and similar topics that may come up in a sex-ed class (or just in the normal course of existence), dads aren’t showing up at the schools to pound on educators.

“I don’t understand where the men are. Like where are the dads? Some teacher’s pushing sex values on your third-grader? Why don’t you go in there and thrash the teacher? This is an agent of the government pushing someone else’s values on your kid, about sex, like, where’s the pushback?”
Carlson is hardly the first conservative to pretend that inclusion and education endanger, rather than protect, children. Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO), for example, recently opined that sex-ed beyond defining sex and gender as binary and identified by body parts, shouldn’t be taught before high school, holding to it even when reminded that puberty tends to hit in middle school.
Still, most do not go so far as to actually call for violence against teachers for doing their jobs, so Carlson has managed to stand out again for taking the extreme position.
