For years, Tucker Carlson has downplayed the issue of white supremacist violence in America. Even an insurrection on the capitol which featured a number of domestic terrorists didn’t change his mind. In fact, the Fox anchor said, it wasn’t even really an insurrection.

So in Carlson’s mind, there is no need for the government to keep an eye on domestic terrorists, especially if they are white. The Fox host took issue with a segment Nicolle Wallace ran on surveilling white supremacist groups. An irate Carlson accused her of wanting the government to use drones to attack Trump supporters.
The prime-time host played a clip from Wallace’s show. He told his audience, “A prominent news anchor is now suggesting drone strikes against American citizens who have the wrong politics.” He later continued, “Maybe not the unity we were looking for. But things have changed. Supporters of Donald Trump, it turns out, were so dangerous that maybe they do deserve Hellfire missiles raining down on their homes.”
Carlson played a clip from Wallace’s show, then ranted, “We play a lot of over-the-top video of that news channel and that news anchor. Save that tape. That will live on forever as one of the craziest things said on cable television. It’s the sign of the moment we’re in.”
