With each passing day, GOP lawmakers and Conservative media try to minimize the events of January 6th. And a big reason for this is that they’re trying to protect the legacy of Donald Trump.Trump, of course, doesn’t think that the insurrection was that big a deal. During a press conference on Wednesday, the former president whined that the rioters are being treated too harshly. He also demanded to know the name of the officer who shot rioter Ashli Babbiit.
In one of his first pressers since being out of office, Trump was mostly asked softball questions. One reporter, though, then asked about the insurrection.
While he said the incident was, “an unfortunate event,” he continued by whining that, “people are being treated unbelievably unfairly and people are in prison and nothing happened to Antifa.”
He then called for the name of the person who shot QAnoner Ashli Babbitt to be revealed. “And nobody knows who that man was,“ he said. “If that were the opposite way, that man would be all over, that man would be the most well known.” Trump then admitted that he knew who the person was, but continued, “but the person who shot Ashli Babbitt, boom, right through the head, boom, there was no reason for that.”
