WATCH: Trump-Endorsed House Candidate Pushes For Concessions To Russia, Ending Aid To Ukraine

While most of America is standing with Ukraine through the invasion by Russia, some fringes of the Republican Party are determined to be the exception. There are not many people who would stand and openly say that Ukraine should be expected to give Vladimir Putin what he wants, but if you’re trying to find one, look no further than Joe Kent (R-WA).

Kent is one of nearly a dozen candidates running to represent Washington’s Third Congressional District, and he has no problem using controversial stnaces to stand out from the rest of the crowd. However, speaking in favor of pushing Ukraine to concede parts of the nation to Russia, especially amidst a bloody and murderous invasion that has world leaders calling for investigations of war crimes, takes it to an extreme.

“Putin has laid out what he wants in Ukraine, it’s a decent starting point. Taking control of the Russian-speaking provinces east of Donetsk and Luhansk, that’s very reasonable…having some form of cease-fire and making those concessions to Putin is very reasonable. We should be very honest with [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky and say that no more aid is coming and the west will not come to your assistance.”

Donald Trump, who initially praised Putin’s ‘genius’ in claiming that his invasion was a matter of ‘peacekeeping,’ issued an endorsement of Kent back in September, supporting his primary challenge to incumbent Jamie Herrerra Butler (R-WA), who voted to support impeaching Trump over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
