During an appearance on Sean Hannity’s show Tuesday night, Donald Trump picked up the new Republican narrative of praising the Taliban over Americans, something that’s been happening increasingly since President Joe Biden signed the order to begin the withdrawal of American troops after 20 years.
The Former Guy called the Taliban “smart” and “good fighters” during the segment where he also erroneously said that the group had been around for 1,000 years. It was founded in 1994.
“The Taliban, good fighters, I will tell you, good fighters. You have to give them credit for that. They’ve been fighting for a thousand years. What they do is they fight,” Trump told Hannity. “The Taliban has circled the airport, and who knows if they’re going to treat us right? All of a sudden, they’ll say — well, frankly, if they were smart, they’d really — and they are smart. They are smart. They should let the Americans out,” Trump summarized.
Trump’s praise of the Taliban is alarming, considering it’s being parroted by his base and surrogates on social media. The group is known for its brutal, violent tactics; just this year, the militants beheaded an Afghan interpreter for the US Army. The Taliban has also been accused of multiple bombings and assassinations. Afghan women are also fearful that they may be barred from working, stoned for breaking the rules, or even killed if the Taliban imposes its strict form of Sharia.
Trump's ranting to Hannity is absolutely bonkers. Get a load of this. pic.twitter.com/4bMPMM16k0

But “Because Biden”, MAGA is digging in and giving more credit to the Taliban than the American troops.
Trump looked terrible in a Hannity interview that seemed scripted. Hannity enables him & looked alarmed when Trump went off script.
Trump always projects & confesses. Claiming Fmr Afghan Pres Ghani wined & dined Senators means Trump was paid off for his treason w/ the Taliban.

Trump also had strong (projection language) words for Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani, who fled Afghanistan over the weekend. He called Ghani a “total crook” who “got away with murder.”
Moments after Trump tells Hannity that the Taliban "don't like to negotiate," he then says they are "very tough people that are very great negotiators." pic.twitter.com/kFFoAitJQX
