WATCH: “The Enemy Within” — Nancy Pelosi Calls Out Congress Members For Threatening Behavior
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t taking insurrection, threats of bodily harm, and dangerous behavior in Congress quietly. She’s speaking out, referring to “the enemy within” to describe members of Congress who feel a need and a right to endanger others.
Pelosi can be heard in the C-SPAN clip below responding to a question about who exactly she means when she refers to “the enemy within.” She responded, expressing that there are concerns that members of the House of Representatives could be a danger to others.
Q: "What exactly did you mean when you said that 'the enemy is within'?"@SpeakerPelosi: "It means that we have members of Congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress."

“It means that we have members of Congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress,” Pelosi explained.
A number of U.S. Representatives have been very vocal recently about bringing weapons into chambers in violation of regulations. As reported last week, Republicans including Representatives Lauren Boebert, Andy Biggs, and Andy Harris were observed to publicly push the boundaries with regard to new security protocols and legal carry at the Capitol building.
Meanwhile, social media posts show that Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke supportively, in 2018 and 2019, of murdering Democrats who would later become her co-workers, including Pelosi herself — Greene boosted a suggestion that “a bullet to the head” would be an appropriate remedy for Pelosi’s political positions. According to CNN, she also posted videos accusing Pelosi and Representative Maxine Waters of treason and calling for death or imprisonment, and encouraged commenters who suggested she should “beat Pelosi’s a**” or that “removal or death” would be equally acceptable options for getting the House Speaker out of Congress.
