No matter what they did, Donald Trump never wanted to criticize his fans. When they marched in the streets of Charlottesville, Virginia, he called them very fine people. The only thing he knew about QAnon was that they liked him very much. And when asked about the Proud Boys, he told them to stand back and stand by.
On January 6th, a mob of Trump supporters stormed the United States capitol. When asked why they did so, many said they were just following orders from the president.
Trump may now be out of office, but his supporters are only growing more upset. In fact, Malcolm Nance, they will become more violent in the coming years.
The terrorism expert made the comments during an appearance on Tiffany Cross’ MSNBC show. He said of the Capitol rioters:
“T]hey knew, that as white Trump voters, they were not going to be stopped. They had the backing of the president of the United States, major parts of Congress. They are going to become more dangerous. Though they’re going to lose some numbers in this initial period of opprobrium, against what they did at the Capitol. These people are becoming true hardliners and dead-enders, true believers, and they are probably going to be the basis of a very long-term political and quite possibly paramilitary and terrorist insurgency in the United States.”
