In politics, attacking someone’s looks is considered out of bounds. But it has never been a problem for Donald Trump. He famously mocked Ted Cruz over the attractiveness of his wife, Heidi. And Trump said of his primary opponent, Carly Fiorina, “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?”
During this weekend’s LIV golf tournament held at a Trump golf course, the former President appeared without his usual makeup. As a result, the public got a look at his bare face. This led to Seth Meyers jokingly wondering if the 45th President’s face is melting.
The late-night host began by noting that Trump is “a man who, again, is not only under multiple active criminal investigations for inciting a coup to overthrow American democracy but is also starting to look less like a former president and more like the Nick Nolte mugshot.”
Meyers continued, “I mean, is his head getting smaller, or is his hat getting bigger? It looks like his hat is some kind of organism feeding on his blood. Look how pale he is! He looks like he’s starring in the next Martin McDonagh film as the ghost of an Irish priest opposite Colin Farrell.”
The comedian closed, “Look, I know they say that all presidents age rapidly, but Trump looks like he’s halfway through a Raiders of the Lost Ark face-melt. It’s like they opened the Ark, his face started to melt, but then he slammed it shut real fast. But then his face just stayed that way.”
