While he is no longer on the campaign trail, Donald Trump is still desperate to be in front of his supporters. And this time around, he may be able to make a little money off of them. So the former president is holding a series of appearances with Bill O’Reilly.
These events began in Florida this weekend. And Trump was humiliated when attendance was so low that sections of the arena had to be closed off. Seth Meyers ripped into Trump last night not only for the attendance, but for some insane claims he made during the event.
Meyers played a clip of the former president claiming:
“You know, Thomas Jefferson, he kept Georgia, he didn’t send it back. There was a dispute. Hear ye, hear ye, the great state of Georgia is unable to properly calculate its votes. Thomas Jefferson was sitting where Mike was. Right where Mike was. You know what he said? Hear ye, hear ye, we will keep the votes of the red state — he didn’t send it back to the legislature. No. All I wanted, and a lot of people wanted Mike to do, is to send that back.”
“I’ll say this, he is the only one I’ve ever seen do an episode of ‘Drunk History’ stone-cold sober,” Meyers remarked. “I mean, it’s like watching an amnesia patient wander up on stage during a performance of Hamilton!”
Trump was referring to a Republican conspiracy theory that Jefferson meddled in the 1800 election. It is not true an you can read the full story here.
