Donald Trump has long been obsessed with TV ratings. The former President sees rating as a measuring stick for the worth of something, and when he wants to attack media opponents, it is always the first thing he talks about.
On Friday, it was revealed that the first night of the 1/6 hearings drew big ratings. An enraged Trump responded by putting out a statement calling the ratings awful. During his Monday show, Joe Scarborough compared the Apprentice ratings to the hearings.
The MSNBC host began, “I want you to compare those 20 million viewers with the biggest ratings Donald Trump garnered for his reality show,” Scarborough said. The host also noted, ‘Liz Cheney got 20 million’ viewers, Trump only drew an audience of 4.6 million for the season finale of his last season of The Apprentice, and 7.6 million for Celebrity Apprentice.”
Scarborough closed, “You could add up his final season average for Celebrity Apprentice and the final season for Apprentice, and…yeah. Looks like Liz has him more than doubled there.”
