[WATCH] Scarborough: Conspiracy Theorists Are Destroying Democracy

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were officially named the winner of the 2020 election nearly 200 days ago, and yet there are still those clinging to the false hopes of the Big Lie. In discussing the most recent fruitless attempt to overturn the election results in Arizona, “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough went off on a slight tangent about the conspiracy theories that continue to surround this election like no other in history.

Those who continue to push the Big Lie to stay in Trump’s good graces aren’t just ignoring the basic facts of the most secure election of our lifetime, Scarborough argued; their baseless conspiracies are destroying the very fundamentals of our democracy.

It’s a point that’s been made repeatedly to underscore just how far gone some Trump supporters are. And one only need look at the 175 members of the GOP who voted against a bipartisan January 6th Commission to see how insidious the conspiracies have become, especially when several members have openly pushed QAnon conspiracy theories themselves.

While discussing the Arizona recount and Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs’ remarks that the voting machines Republicans turned over to private companies as part of their audit of the 2020 election are no longer safe for use in future elections, Scarborough weighed in on the election conspiracy theories.
