WATCH: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Wants Kids “As Safe In The Womb As The Classroom”

When Sarah Huckabee Sanders won the GOP nomination for Governor of Arkansas, nineteen children in Uvalde Texas had just been brutally murdered in their school, in one of the places they should have felt the most secure. She hijacked that horror for anti-choice rhetoric, which, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s disastrous and deadly decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, is starker than ever.

On May 24th, Sanders won her primary, and on the same day, the nation was rocked by yet another mass murder in yet another school in America. Across the nation, elected officials spoke about protecting children in classrooms, through legislation that would keep high-powered rifles out of the hands of at least some individuals who seek to carry out such an act, or by such ridiculous means as flooding schools with more guns, placing them in the hands of teachers or adding armed guards.

Sanders, though?

She declared that she wants the womb to be as safe as the classroom — which, on that day, didn’t look very safe to parents clutching their children and fearing the worst from the spate of copycats that often follow such an event.

In her full address, which you can see here via 40/29 News, Sanders declared, “Frankly, that’s what sets us apart. We are a culture that values and protects life.”

On Friday, Sanders celebrated the Supreme Court ruling that determined millions of pregnant people would lose the right to make a decision about their own lives, and determine whether or not to produce more lives.
