WATCH: Rudy Giuliani Says People Aren’t Dying of COVID Anymore
A few weeks back, Donald Trump contracted COVID-19. 3 GOP senator, Ron Johnson, Thom Tillis and Mike Lee contracted the illness as well. It didn’t stop there. Important figures in Trump world like Chris Christie, Kayleigh McEnany and Stephen Miller also tested positive.
One might think that all these cases might have forced Republicans to take the coronavirus a little more seriously. In fact, it did quite the opposite. Donald Trump, who took an extreme cocktail of drugs, said the illness wasn’t that big a deal. And sometimes Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani is now claiming that it doesn’t even kill people any more.
Of course, nothing can be further than the truth. While COVID-19 doesn’t seem to be as deadly as it was in the early days, the US is still seeing 500-1,000 deaths each day.
You wouldn’t know that by listening to the former New York City mayor, though. He made the comments during an Italians for Trump event held in Philadelphia on Monday night.
“People don’t die of this disease anymore,”Giuliani insisted. He continued, “Young people don’t die at all. Middle age people die very little. And even elderly people have only 1 percent chance of dying.”
The Republican provided absolutely no evidence for any of his claims. Watch a clip of Giuliani’s statements below, courtesy of CNN:
