Ron DeSantis knows that if he wants to take over the Republican party, he will have to be even more extreme than Donald Trump. And the Florida Governor seemingly thinks that the best way to do that is to constantly bash COVID protocols.

DeSantis’ anti-vax rhetoric has been so intense that even Trump took a shot at him. During a January interview with OAN, the former President remarked, “I watched a couple politicians be interviewed, and one of the questions was, ‘Did you get a booster?’ Because they had the vaccine and they’re answering like — in other words, the answer is ‘yes,’ but they don’t want to say it because they’re gutless.”
The Florida Governor again engaged in COVID outrage during an appearance at the University of South Florida. DeSantis said to a group of High School students, “You do not have to wear those masks. Please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything. We’ve gotta stop with this Covid theater. So if you wanna wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous.”
