In the lead up to the 2016 election and afterwards, Kayleigh McEnany frequently appeared on CNN to defend Donald Trump. She did an impressive enough job discussing the President to impress the Republican party who made the lawyer the National Spokesperson for the RNC.

In her new role, McEnany still make regular appearances on cable news to discuss conservative politics and defend the President’s actions. During a nighttime appearance on Chris Cuomo’s show on Wednesday, she made the claim that Donald Trump, “doesn’t lie.”
Parroting Trump, the spokesperson claimed that it is actually the media that lies rather than Trump. When asked whether or not the President tells the truth, she replied, “He doesn’t lie. Guess who lies? The press lies.”
"No. I don't believe the President has lied."

An incredulous Cuomo responded, “I’m going to ask you this one more time. Kayleigh McEnany, do you believe this president has ever lied to the American people?” McEnany again said, “No. I don’t believe the president has lied. Do you believe the fake news media has lied?”
This prompted the CNN host to abruptly end the interview. He admonished the spokesperson, saying, “Interview’s over, Kayleigh. Please. If you can’t admit that this president has lied to the American people, you will not have credibility with the audience. You’ve got a long way to go, Kayleigh.”
The Washington Post has conducted a project of tracking lies told by Trump since he took office. As of August 12th, the paper claimed that the President has made 12,019 false or misleading claims over the last 928 days.
