(WATCH): RNC Releases Video Blasting Michael Cohen

Many Republicans on the hill are worried about the things Michael Cohen could say during his Thursday Congressional testimony. In times like these, the party message can be just as important as the information Cohen relays.

The RNC wants to make sure that Republican voters aren’t swayed by the tales told by Trump’s former lawyer. To get out in front of the situation, the RNC released a twitter video poking holes in Cohen’s integrity.

The tweet reads, “For years, Michael Cohen praised Donald Trump’s honesty and integrity. It was only after Cohen was caught for tax evasion and other personal financial misdeeds, he began lying about President Trump in an effort to save face.”

The tweet also features a video of Cohen appearing as the president’s surrogate on cable news programs. In the segments, Cohen praises and marvels at his former boss. The video ends with the tagline, “Have fun in prison.”

This isn’t the parties only attempt to paint Cohen in a negative light. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement, “Disgraced felon Michael Cohen is going to prison for lying to Congress and making other false statements. Sadly, he will go before Congress this week and we can expect more of the same. It’s laughable that anyone would take a convicted liar like Cohen at his word, and pathetic to see him given yet another opportunity to spread his lies.”

Cohen began the day by releasing a copy of his blistering opening statement condemning Trump. Once the hearing is over, both parties will be looking to spin the information for their side.
