WATCH: Rick Scott Admits Joe Biden Was “Duly Elected” But Still Pushes The Big Lie

It’s not an election year for Senator Rick Scott (R-FL). Maybe that’s why he feels safe to openly acknowledge that Joe Biden is the duly elected president of the United States. Still, he seems to be hedging his bets — because, despite that acknowledgment, he still says he’s supporting voters who have ‘concerns’ about election fraud in 2020.

Rick Scott says that as he talks to constituents, their primary election concerns are security going forward: they want him to push for voter ID policies, strict signature matching, and enact or enforce limits on who can return a ballot for another voter.
However, when pressed directly on two seemingly conflicting points — whether he recognizes Joe Biden as the duly elected President of the Untied States, and whether he thinks that it’s time to stop dwelling on the false claims that the 2020 election was ‘stolen’ — Scott seems to think he can do both.
"There's clearly people that are still concerned about what happened in 2020, and they would like the facts to come out … we're gonna make sure their vote is not diluted" — Rick Scott is on CBS playing footsie with the big lie pic.twitter.com/ZV4afZJLbX

“There’s clearly people who are still concerned about 2020 and they would like the facts to come out…they wanna know exactly what happened, you know, were there problems, exactly what happened, they’d like to know that…you have to talk about making sure people understand what happened in 2020.”
So, what happened in 2020? When asked the direct question, “Just to be abundantly clear, you have recognized President Biden is the duly elected President of the United States, correct?” Scott’s answer is an unequivocal “Absolutely. Absolutely.”
If one recognizes that fact, that Biden was duly elected, then one surely knows what happened in 2020 — Donald Trump lost.
