WATCH: Retired Army General Blasts Trump Over “Loser Troop” Comments
On Thursday, The Atlantic published a story citing numerous sources who claimed Donald Trump regularly disparaged some American soldiers as losers. Trump, of course, denied the claims. The President, however, has regularly made comments like this about the military and especially about former Arizona senator John McCain.
Ret. U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton certainly didn’t believe the denials coming from the White House. The former military officer posted a video on his Twitter page blasting Trump and wondering how anyone could vote for him.
Eaton, who was the commander tasked with training troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom, began, “I’m pretty unhappy with you, Mr. Trump. So I’m going to keep this short for your famous short attention span,” Eaton said in the clip. “You have shown disrespect to the military on countless occasions. I am stunned that anybody in the United States military would consider you anything but a ‘loser’ or a ‘sucker.’ You’re no patriot.”
The retired General continued, “Our Army, our Navy, our Marine Corps, our Air Force, our Coast Guard. Brave men and women. They’re not just brave. They’re smart and wise. So, Mr. Trump, come Nov. 3, we’re all voting for a real patriot — Joe Biden. And everybody who hears this, please take notice and please vote. Vote Democratic. Our country’s honor depends on it.”
