Donald Trump is being sentenced on 34 felony fraud convictions on November 26th stemming from hush money payments he made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to stay quiet ahead of the 2016 election.
So why did he think it was a good idea to try to bribe Daniels into silence again before Judge Juan Merchan could hand down his punishment in six weeks? Because that's what he did, according to a new bombshell report from Rachel Maddow that she dropped on "All in With Chris Hayes" on Wednesday.
The huge story had gotten somewhat lost in the wake of Vice President Kamala Harris' interview with Bret Baier on Fox News, which aired soon after "All In," as well as Trump's disastrous Univision Town Hall.
Trump extended the offer via his legal team after Daniels paid off the lawyers' fees she owed him thanks to a GoFundMe. The actress filmed the moment her lawyer called her, expecting to hear she was finally done with Trump, but instead, he told her they wanted to make another offer to "silence" her again.
Maddow shares a letter from Trump's lawyer offering the bribe in writing, and you can hear Chris Hayes say "Oh wow" in reaction. Trump's legal team forwarded Maddow's request for a response to the campaign team, who responded like the liars they are, claiming it was "Iranian hackers" and refused to acknowledge the letter from Trump's lawyers was real.
Expect this to be revisited on November 26th, as Maddow also points out.
