[WATCH] President Biden Lashes Out at Trump For Lack of Action on January 6th

While President Joe Biden doesn’t spend a whole lot of time thinking about his predecessor, whom he dubbed “The Former Guy” soon after his inauguration, he took some time to deliver some of the harshest criticisms of Donald Trump that we’ve heard from him since he took office.
The President said on Monday that Trump “lacked the courage to act” on January 6th as his supporters overran the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of the Electoral College votes.

Biden: For three hours, the defeated former President watched it all happen… Donald Trump lacked the courage to act. The brave women and men in blue should never forget that. You can’t be pro-insurrection and pro-cop… pic.twitter.com/A8SuGcqAzc

The President credited the police for their role in ending the riot and implied that Trump supporters cannot claim to be pro-police but support the Capitol rioters. “You saw what happened,” President Biden said. “The Capitol Police, the D.C. Metropolitan Police, and other law enforcement agencies were attacked and assaulted before our very eyes — speared, sprayed, stomped on, brutalized. And lives were lost.”
Call me old fashioned, but I don’t think inciting a mob that attacks a police officer is “respect for the law.”
