[WATCH] Peter Navarro Pleads Not Guilty to Contempt of Congress Charges

Former Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro pleaded not guilty to Contempt of Congress charges on Friday after not cooperating with the House’s ongoing January 6th House Select Committee’s investigation, which is essentially the definition of being in contempt of Congress. But Navarro is possibly the most insane person crammed into the MAGA Clown Car parked out front at Mar-A-Lago (save for Mike Lindell, the guy who’s always at the wheel), because he can’t seem to remember telling Ari Melber (and other interviewers) the entire plan to overturn the 2020 Presidential election results and the subsequent siege on the Capitol.

Navarro has hyped his arrest and subsequent court appearance with the tone of a man so egregiously wronged that he can’t comprehend what’s happened to him. But when you don’t show up for a Congressional subpoena and you’re not an actual sitting member of Congress, then you’re going to get popped for it. See also: Steve Bannon, who hasn’t been able to weasel his way out of his own court appearance next month for the same charges. Also, I’d like to point out that Donald Trump hasn’t made any attempts to help anyone connected to him who’s been charged, because of course he hasn’t.

Peter Navarro should genuinely and legitimately be locked up in a psych ward of a Supermax as soon as judicially possible, because the man has broken on through to the other side and he’s never coming back.

Aside from pleading Not Guilty despite totally being guilty of so many things, Navarro also asked that his trial be postponed so he can GO ON A BOOK TOUR because of course Peter Navarro has a book to tour, the Republican Publishing Racket never stops churning! Not even in the middle of a historic investigation into roughly 95% of the GOP! I mean, it’s on Donald Trump Jr’s “imprint,” so it’s not really a real book and Navarro shouldn’t get to postpone a real trial for it.

Peter Navarro is nutballs and also doesn’t understand basic Civics. He’ll end up with a longer sentence by following Bannon’s example, and that’s fine by me.
