WATCH: Pence Press Sec Won’t Say If Uninsured People Can Be Tested for Coronavirus
President Donald Trump has put Vice President Mike Pence in charge of the effort to combat the coronavirus crisis.
However, the public relations aspect of the operation is not going very well, likely because the effort in and of itself isn’t going that well either.
When a reporter asked perfectly legitimate question about the ability of uninsured people to get tested for the deadly virus, one of Pence’s press people wasn’t having it. As a press conference on the matter was winding down, CNN political analyst Brian Karem asked about the situation for uninsured people.
Karem asked, “Guys, guys, can the uninsured, can the uninsured get tested?”
There was no answer from the team for White House, so Karem repeated the question. The answer was stunning.
This was probably not picked up most cable network coverage.
"Can the uninsured get tested?"
"Gentlemen, ladies…Can the uninsured get tested?"
WH staffer(?): "Screaming for the camera can't get you anywhere."

Katie Miller, who happens to be the spouse of White House Immigration Czar and white nationalist Stephen Miller simply said, “Screaming for the camera isn’t going to get you anywhere.”
When Karem asked her to just answer the question, she again refused.
Now, this comes as no surprise. Trump and his GOP cronies are perfectly fine with people dying due to lack of health insurance. They have been trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act since Trump took office- hell, since it was enacted at all. They think if you can’t pay for healthcare, then you should not get any healthcare.
But this coronavirus is quickly turning into a global pandemic. For the sake of the public good, anyone who has potentially been exposed should be able to be tested, costs be damn. However, the Trump cult of death clearly feels otherwise.
People are going to die here, more than have to, because of the money-grubbing heartlessness of the Trump Administration.
