WATCH: Pelosi Doesn’t Think “Morbidly Obese” Trump Should be Taking Hydroxychloroquine
Yesterday, Donald Trump told the press that he has been taking the anti-malarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, to prevent coronavirus. The statement came as a shock to many, as the FDA has issued a warning against taking the medication for this purpose.
The White House later produced a letter from the President’s Doctor, Sean Conley, that revealed he’d been administering the drug to the President. While appearing on Anderson Cooper’s show, Nancy Pelosi mocked concern over the “morbidly obese” Trump taking the dangerous medication.
The CNN host asked Pelosi what she thought about the President’s comments. “I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group, morbidly obese, they say,” she replied.

Chuck Schumer, the Senate Minority Leader also said that Trump probably shouldn’t be taking the medication. “I know him saying he is taking it, whether he is or not, is reckless, reckless, reckless. It gives people false hope, has people avoid real medical attention, and can actually cause them trouble. It is just dangerous what he did.”
And Trump also faced condemnation from China. Hu Xijin, of the Global Times, tweeted, “President Trump is leading the US’s struggle against pandemic with witchcraft, and as a result, more than 90,000 people have died. If it were in China, the White House would have been burned down by angry people.”
