WATCH: Party Claiming To Be Against “Censorship” Wants Piers Morgan Sued Over Donald Trump Interview

Donald Trump has shown over his short political career that he’s got very little patience with being hit with hard questions. He’s attacked reporters, and even walked out of interviews. This time, though, he says that his latest walk-out is a lie, and his fans think that the interviewer should be punished for releasing a clip that Trump says is dishonest.

Trump sat down for an interview with Piers Morgan. This much is agreed on by all parties. What happened next, though, is up for debate. If you believe Trump, the interview that was supposed to last about 20 minutes went over by an hour. If you believe the video Morgan released in advance of the full interview, the discussion was abruptly cut short when the former president got upset over Morgan insisting that the 2020 election was “free and fair,” and that Trump lost.

The interview preview can be seen below.

Donald Trump released a statement assuming Morgan of “unlawfully and deceptively” editing the interview, and leaked audio (here) of the last several minutes of the conversation in order to prove that he didn’t walk out after being pushed on the Big Lie.

Trump, notably, has been criticized for boosting faked or edited videos to attack Democrats. He and his fans are also currently railing against what they call “censorship,” by which they typically refer to social media sites refusing to host false or potentially harmful material, including but not limited to disinformation about COVID-19 and election access.

However, now some of those closest to him, like his Director of Communications Taylor Budowich, and his political admirers like Representatice Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), are calling for a lawsuit because they say Piers Morgan’s interview preview was misleading.
