[WATCH] ‘Overstock Guy’ Patrick Byrne Admits He Was Involved in Plot to Overturn 2020 Presidential Election

Patrick Byrne, the former CEO of Overstock.com, was set to meet with the January 6th House Select Committee on Friday to share what he knew about the plot to overturn the 2020 Presidential election.

Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone told the Committee that he didn’t recognize Byrne–whom he called “The Overstock Guy”–amongst the cast of characters who had assembled for a contentious White House meeting days before Christmas in 2020 with Donald Trump and members of his staff, during which Byrne, former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and Trump lawyer Sidney Powell made the case that the election had been stolen and they needed to recount ballots in at least six states. They also discussed deploying the National Guard to seize voting machines.

Former Trump White House aides have testified that the meeting became “unhinged” with shouting and insults being hurled between the conspiracy theorists and the White House legal team. The group moved around the White House until after midnight, ultimately ending up at Trump’s living quarters, known as the “Yellow Oval,” where Byrne says Swedish meatballs were served and he was “scarfing them down like popcorn.” Hours after their meeting, Trump called on protesters to join him in the nation’s capital, tweeting: “Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election. Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!”

After that meeting proved unsuccessful, Byrne says he continued to try and get in front of Trump again, even flying down to Mar-a-Lago over the holidays, but he was turned away by security after showing up in “a beat-up Toyota Corolla Uber ride and yoga clothes.”

He also had an affair with Maria Butina, the Russian agent who was convicted and jailed for trying to infiltrate political organizations in the United States, including the NRA. She was also rumored to have had affairs with several top Republican operatives.
