WATCH: Omicron vs LeBron James? Jimmy Kimmel Tests Awareness On The Street

Hopefully, LeBron James will never have to face off against the Omicron variant of COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean the public won’t share their opinions on just which one is tougher and scarier. In fact, when Jimmy Kimmel took his comedy interviews to the street, he found folks ready and willing to tell their views on how the new variant of concern compares to everything from a Ye album to their favorite marijuana variety.

There’s something new in the news, and everyone is taking about it — but that doesn’t mean they have any idea what they’re talking about. In one of Kimmel’s popular segments, he displays the folly of ‘person on the street’ interviews by producing video clips of street interviews with people who are all too happy to weigh in, even when doing so reveals how much they don’t know about the subject at hand.
In this case, it’s the Omicron variant of COVID-19, which is worrying experts around the world. However, how effectively has the news drifted down to the average citizen? Kimmel finds several interviewees who are happy to fall for a line about Omicron being a new album title, or a new weed strain.
The last pair of interviewees is even willing to perform a commercial for what they think is an exciting new product, although they admit they haven’t tried it themselves! So, how does Omicron stack up? While experts say that it seems to exhibit milder symptoms than some other strains of the virus, but may be more transmissible, Kimmel’s guests assure us that previous Ye albums, and LeBron James, are all preferable to Omicron.
