Republicans really hate an awful lot of celebrities and that list certainly includes Taylor Swift. Swift, the most famous person on the planet, backed Joe Biden in 2020 and will more than likely do so again in 2024. Considering her popularity, that prospect is certainly terrifying to Conservatives.
There are some celebrities who Republicans do like. The list includes figures like Kid Rock, Clint Eastwood, Toby Keith, and Jason Aldean. And of course, the GOP loves celebrity Donald Trump so much, they keep nominating him to be the Presidential candidate.
Newsmax's Greg Kelly doesn't seem to care that many of Trump's supporters treat him like some kind of God, he just wants people to stop paying so much attention to Swift. He told his viewers:
"They are totally over the top worshipping this woman. Have you seen any of the pictures of her in concert? I wouldn’t go myself. I don’t do that kind of thing anymore. But I think what they call it is, they’re elevating her to an idol. Idolatry. This is a little bit what idolatry, I think, looks like. And you’re not supposed to do that. In fact, if you look it up in the Bible, it’s a sin! So, I don’t like that."
The host then revealed the real reason why he was delivering this diatribe, "She is going to use all of this popularity, potentially, against MAGA and for Democrats. She’s got a record of this stuff, a track record."
