WATCH: New Video Shows Greene Harassing Ocasio-Cortez In 2019
Wednesday’s Capitol hallway chase down of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) isn’t the first time Marjorie Taylor Greene has attempted to get up in the New York lawmaker’s face. CNN has unearthed a since deleted video from 2019, before Greene was elected to the House, showing her and several companions taunting and harassing Ocasio-Cortez and her staff through the mail slot of her congressional office.
In the video Greene says to the camera, “We’re going to see, we’re going to visit Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Crazy eyes. Crazy eyes. Nutty. Cortez. Once they arrive at the congresswoman’s office, Greene finds the office door locked and proceed to lift the flap on the mail slot and taunt the staff inside for keeping the door locked and not letting them inside.
“Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, I’m an American citizen. I pay your salary through the taxes that you collect for me through the IRS because I’m a taxpaying citizen of the United States,” Greene says, noting elsewhere in the video that members of Congress are “employees” who “work for us.”
“So you need to stop being a baby and stop locking your door and come out and face the American citizens that you serve,” she says. “If you want to be a big girl, you need to get rid of your diaper and come out and be able to talk to the American citizens. Instead of having to use a flap, a little flap. Sad.”
As Greene and chums left Ocasio-Cortez’s office Greene said, “Bye-bye, little baby girl. Ocasio-Cortez – she went and hid. She couldn’t take it.” Before moving on they also rearranged sticky notes placed on the congresswoman’s office wall and signed the guest book by drawing a picture of a border wall.
That same day, Feb. 22, 2019, Greene also went to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office and delivered a petition to impeach the California Democrat for treason and suggested that she should be executed or imprisoned for her “crimes.” Greene’s Capitol harassment tour that day also included the offices of Democratic Reps. Maxine Waters, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.
With Greene at the Capitol that day was close ally Anthony Aguero. Aguero once ran to represent El Paso in Congress. On Jan. 6 he was capture on camera inside the Capitol taking part in the deadly insurrection.
