WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Hosts Huge Hometown Fundraiser For Kamala Harris

Speaker Emitera Nancy Pelosi hosted a packed hometown fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday that raked in millions of dollars for the Harris-Walz campaign.

Nearly 700 people had purchased tickets that cost at least $3,300 and as much as $500,000 to hear the VP and the former House Speaker at San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel, raising a total of $12 million for the campaign in one evening. California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who's been one of the Biden-Harris administration's best surrogates, also attended the event

"This is a good day when we welcome Kamala Harris back home to California," Speaker Pelosi said in her remarks about the former Senator, Attorney General, and District Attorney's service to the state before being elected Vice President in 2020.

“She makes us all so proud. She brings us so much joy. She gives us so much hope,” Speaker Pelosi continued. She went on to describe VP Harris as a person of “great strength” and someone who is “politically very astute”.

"She knows the issues. She knows the strategy. She has gotten an enormous amount done working with Joe Biden," Speaker Pelosi said.

After thanking Speaker Pelosi for her friendship and support, Vice President Harris smiled in acknowledgment at the crowd's enthusiasm but cautioned them against getting too caught up in the early energy of the still-new campaign.

"The energy is undeniable," VP Harris said. "Yes, the crowds are large."

Citing Trump's threats--such as being a dictator on Day One and banning abortion nationwide--the VP made sure the crowd understood what was at stake.

"We can take nothing for granted in this critical moment," she said.
