WATCH: MSNBC’s Medhi Hasan Calls Out Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw for Lying About Border

Lines have long been drawn when it comes to cable news programs. Liberal politicians appear on MSNBC and CNN. Conservative politicians appear on Fox News. And the most right-wing politicians appear on OAN and Newsmax.

So some credit has to be given to Dan Crenshaw for interviewing with Medhi Hasan last night. That being said, the decision did not go well for him. The MSNBC host called out the Texas congressman for his lies over Joe Biden’s border policies.

The two men had been arguing over Twitter during the last week. This led to Crenshaw accepting an offer to discuss the policy on air. And it was an explosive exchange.

Hasan began, “I wonder why you went on Fox and said people are not being deported.” Crenshaw backtracked, “I never said nobody was getting deported. So our system works fairly well. You just played what I said and I didn’t say that.”

The MSNBC pressed, “It cannot be an open border if 72% of people are removed. That’s nonsensical to claim that. You know that. I know that.” The Texas Rep. countered, “But again, you’re arguing with people…I would say there’s an effective open border. That’s what I would say. If you want to accuse somebody else of saying things — you haven’t been able to fact check me on it, because I haven’t said it.”

The spot closed with Hasan saying, “I’m fact checking you now. It’s not an open border if the vast number of people get expelled.”
