WATCH: MSNBC's Michael Steele Challenges J.D. Vance to Come on for Interview [

During a segment on MSNBC this Sunday, Michael Steele invited J.D. Vance to come on for an interview, promising that he wouldn't pull any tricks.

Tim Walz went on Fox News this morning, taking tough questions from host Shannon Bream. Vance did appear on CNN a few weeks back, arguing with host Dana Bash about his lies about Springfield, Ohio.

Trump has been doing all he can to avoid tough questions, and Vance has been doing the same over the last few weeks. Steele, who once ran the RNC, appealed to the Republican Vice Presidential candidate to come take questions from him.

Steele began by saying, "I just don't see the same level of passionate urgency for Donald Trump and J.D Vance. and so, look, I will tell you I am extending an invitation for the vice presidential nominee for the Republican Party, J.D. Vance, to come and join us at the table."

Including his co-hosts Alicia Menendez and Symone Sanders-Townsend in the conversation, Steele continued his pitch, "We would love to have a sit-down conversation with you. You know: no crazy stuff, no gotcha. Talk about policy, talk about where you want to go."

Sanders-Townsend ended the pitch with a dig at Vance, saying, "He's the only one who does gotcha."
