It is no great secret in Washington DC that Donald Trump's running mate is expected to be a female. He has already said it won't be Nikki Haley, but other women like Kari Lake, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Sarah Huckabee Sanders could be in the mix.
Elise Stefanik is often mentioned among the top contenders for the role. Once thought of as a moderate, the New York congresswoman has gone full MAGA. And her ridiculous defense of Donald Trump's mishaps this weekend were a topic of conversation on Morning Joe on Monday.
This weekend, Trump repeatedly used Nikki Haley's name when he meant to say Nancy Pelosi. When asked about the moment, Stefanik said Nikki Haley is a desperate candidate and that Donald Trump is stronger than ever.
Mika Brzezinski began, "I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am everytime I hear her talk." Joe Scarborough jumped in, "she's a clown, what a clown. He confuses Barack Obama with Joe Biden. He thinks he's running against Barack Obama, Elise, and you know it."
Scarborough continued to address Stefanik saying, "You're lying through your teeth. For what? He's not going to pick you as Vice President. Give up the ghost Elise Stefanik.'
The two hosts then noted that while Stefanik has been so supportive of Trump, he repeatedly mispronounced her name this weekend.
