The Morning Joe panel couldn't hold back their laughs on Friday while mockingly debunking Donald Trump's lie about Willie Brown.
During his rambling Thursday press conference, Donald Trump told a story about almost dying on a helicopter with the former Mayor of San Francisco, Willie Brown. Brown and Kamala Harris were once in a relationship and Trump claimed that he had terrible things to say about her. The problem was that Trump has never been on a helicopter with Willie Brown.
Katy Kay reported on Morning Joe that Trump has actually been on the helicopter with Jerry Brown, the former Governor of California. Jerry Brown Is white and Willie Brown is black. The reporting brought laughter from the entire panel.
Kay continued, "Willie Brown isn't saying terrible things about Harris at all. In fact, he remains an avid supporter of hers."
The reporter closed:
"The group took the helicopter to survey wildfire damage in 2018, an event where Trump would confuse the name of the town that was destroyed and also claimed the solution to California's wildfire crisis was to, quote, 'rake the forest.' Do you remember that? Raking the forest? That was one of those particular moments. The story didn't make sense: it didn't really happen, the people were different than the people he said it was."
