WATCH: Morning Joe Marks 6 Month Anniversary of Capitol Attack by Slamming GOP Members Who Don’t “Back the Blue”

For decades, Republicans have talked about their support for police officers. It is mentioned at every single GOP rally. But when push came to shove, Conservatives have refused to support cops.

6 months ago today, Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol. Over 140 Capitol officers were injured in the riots. 3 officers died following that day, 2 by suicide and 1 from seizures.

Republican lawmakers, though, have been refusing the meet with Capitol officers to talk about that day. Joe Scarborough called them out during his Tuesday morning show.

Scarborough began by telling Kasie Hunt, “there are so many people in the crowd who spent the 2020 election screaming about law and order and defending the blue.”

The host continued, “Now these so-called defenders of police officers won’t acknowledge them, won’t talk to them, won’t thank them. We’ve seen some Capitol officers go in and be completely ignored by Republicans. Police officers that were beaten within inches of their life, who thought they were going to die that day. This is not defending the blue. It’s the antithesis of supporting law enforcement officers.”

Hunt noted the absurdity of the situation, remarking, “the thing about all of that revisionist history is that we have these videos to play.”
