Mika Brzezinski blasted Lindsey Graham's recent defense of Donald Trump during Monday's broadcast of Morning Joe.
It has always been clear that Lindsey Graham knows that Donald Trump is a dangerous man and is unfit to lead the country. But it is also clear that the South Carolina lawmaker values the power Trump has over the Republican party, so he isn't willing to take a stand.
This weekend, Meet the Press' Kristen Welker asked Graham about Trump claiming that immigrants are 'poisoning the blood' of the United States. The senator responded, "You know, we're talking about language. I could care less what language people use as long as we get it right."
After playing the clip, Brzezinski responded, "Well, you know what, Lindsey? The language that he uses turns out to be what he does, so we're not getting it right. I mean, what's wrong with him? 'I could care less'? That's Republican Senator Lindsey Graham."
Host Joe Scarborough then weighed in, "Trump literally channeling Hitler, talking about poisoning the blood of America. Again, I always go back to that Iowa congressman [Steve King] the Republicans kicked out for saying far less than this."
He continued, "We talk about Hitler, okay? You can say David Duke. It's what the Klan always talked about. And it is mainstreamed in the Republican party. Lindsey Graham says he doesn't care, doesn't care that Donald Trump is talking about, you know, he is using basically racist, fascist language."
