For the majority of Donald Trump’s first term, Barack and Michelle Obama sat back and didn’t criticize him much. That has begun to change during the 2020 election season. Both Obama’s gave stirring speeches at the Democratic National Convention painting Trump’s presidency as a disaster.
On Tuesday, the Biden campaign released a new 27 minute video clip of the former First Lady discussing Trump. Michelle Obama absolutely destroys Trump in the ad, calling him a racist who isn’t up for the job.
In the ad, called Michelle Obama’s Closing Argument, she tells viewers, “Seven months later, he still doesn’t have a plan for this virus. Seven months later, he still won’t wear a mask consistently and encourage others to do the same, even when those simple actions could save countless lives. Instead, he continues to gaslight the American people by acting like this pandemic is not a real threat.”

The former First Lady also addressed the president’s racism saying he is, “stoking fears about Black and Brown Americans,” and “lying about how minorities will destroy the suburbs.”
Michelle Obama didn’t mince words, “What the president is doing is, once again, patently false. It’s morally wrong. And yes, it is racist. Racism, fear [and] division … are powerful weapons [that can] destroy this nation if we don’t deal with them head-on.”
The former First Lady closed:
“I’ll be very honest: This is a message I’d planned to release earlier, and after everything that’s happened, I weighed whether or not to go public at all. But I wanted you all to hear what’s been on my mind. Because the fact is that the drama of the past few days has only emphasized what’s at stake in this election.”
