Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, once the best friend and personal assistant to Melania Trump, has had a lot to say about what she learned about the family, starting with the inauguration she was hired to plan and produce, and going on to share about everything from Donald Trump’s lies about his relationships with other public figures, to the inside scoop on leaked nude photos.

Wolkoff appeared on the MeidasTouch podcast this week to share how she feels she was lied to and deceived in the earliest weeks of her work with Trump’s team, as she worked on producing an inauguration event, never knowing that it would be a matter of investigation and scandal. That’s not all — she shares her own views about how Melania’s nude photos were leaked, and how Trump used his media connections for power, control, and distraction.

While Melania, in her own book, indicated suspicion that it was Trump’s ally Roger Stone who had released her nude photos to the public, from her position on the inside, Wolkoff has a different view.

She suggests that Trump himself used media connections, possibly even with his wife’s permission, to manufacture a ‘leak’ in order to distract from his own scandals.

“I think that Donald needed the attention to be taken away from him…Donald is the master of, you know, shine the light over there so no one really knows what’s going on over here…[Melania] knew who she was marrying. She told me a million times over, you can’t change someone, don’t try…Did she agree to that, to allowing Donald’s release [of her photos]? Did she know it was going to happen? That I don’t know.”
