WATCH: Meghan McCain and Joy Behar Have Intense Spat Over Anti-Vaxxers

The response to COVID-19 was never supposed to be political. Unfortunately for America, Donald Trump was president when the pandemic hit the shores. The former president politicized everything from masks to social distancing to vaccines.

And it clearly worked. Republicans, especially those who are fans of Trump, are very resistant to taking the COVID vaccine. During Thursday’s episode of The View, Meghan McCain and Joy Behar got in quite a tiff over exactly who is resisting getting inoculated.

McCain argued that Conservatives she knows aren’t hesitant to get the vaccine because of politics. Instead, she said, they’re worried about fertility. Doctors have debunked this Republican talking point.

Behar began, “It’s not that complicated, people. It’s not nuclear physics. All you have to do is get the damn vaccine. When you go inside, wear a mask, even if you have the vaccine. There might be variants around. Get the damn vaccine. Get the booster when that time is coming. What is the complicated problem here with people?” She later opined, “You’re not owning the libs by not gets the shot.”

McCain responded, “I think, again, the White House and the CDC has done a terrible job in saying what do you want to own the libs and that’s that? It’s not productive. That’s why people go into their corners. This is coming from a place of fear.”

The two women talked over each other for the rest of the segment as Behar tried to explain that many in Conservative media are pushing anti-vaxx propaganda.
