Americans have been dealing with the fallout of the coronavirus for months now. While many in the media didn’t imagine it would become this serious, the messaging has been different from Conservative and Liberal media. Some right-wing anchors have gone as far as saying the COVID-19 response is a coup against Donald Trump.
Meghan McCain, despite standing strongly in the Republican corner, does not care for her parties response to the epidemic. During Friday’s episode of the view, the host ripped Conservatives, including Elisabeth Hasselbeck, over their blase attitude about COVID-19.
During an appearance on the show a week and a half ago, Hasselbeck said, “Yes we’re going to take precautions, Purell, pray that God’s got us in our tomorrows, right? We pray that this coronavirus is extinguished, that it stops in its tracks. And I love the fact that we can identify that this is precautionary, right?”
McCain said on Friday, “I think, even as me, just like the only conservative in the world left on mainstream media — at least that’s how it feels most of the time — you hunker down and you get tribal and you’re like, ‘Oh, but it’s gotta be an attack against the President. It’s gotta be an attack against Republicans.”
The much maligned host continued, “We had it happen on this show as well, not with me, but we had it happen on this show as well, lest we forget, a Republican saying that it was, you know, that we should wash our hands and pray it away. So it wasn’t just on Fox New that it was happening, it happened right here on ‘The View.’”
