WATCH: Matt Gaetz Flops During His CPAC Comedy Routine

Though he’s a relatively young lawmaker, Matt Gaetz has become well known over the last 4 years. Much of his notoriety comes from the fact that he followed Donald Trump around like a puppy dog. The fact that Trump couldn’t even remember his name didn’t deter him one bit.

This weekend’s CPAC conference does not feature mainstream Republicans like Mike Pence and Nikki Haley. In fact, it’s choc full of Trump sycophants including Gaetz. And the Florida Reps attempt at humor fell terribly flat.

Gaetz began with a joke about his attempt to shame Liz Cheney for her vote to impeach Donald Trump. “I haven’t gotten that warm a welcome since I was in Wyoming.”

He then continued, “Many Fortune 100 companies will not donate to pro-Trump Republicans. Some have even pulled their sponsorships of this conference. American business should be worried about business, not wokeism.”

The Florida man then went for a joke, telling the crowd, “Look out, Mr. Potato Head, you’re next. “I’m sorry, I think now he’s going by Potato-x. Can’t be Mr. Potato Head — see to me, the whole concept of the Mr. Potato Head was you could move the parts around, I mean, Mr. Potato Head was America’s first transgender doll and even he got canceled.”
