WATCH: Maskless DeSantis Slaps Hands With Trump Supporters Then Picks His Nose
The vast majority of Republican lawmakers in the country have made it clear that they are 100% behind Donald Trump. But he may have the most GOP support from elected officials in the state of Florida. Congressman Matt Gaetz adores him and Senator Marco Rubio’s opinion on Trump has dramatically changed since 2016.
But, perhaps no one loves the president more than Ron DeSantis. The Florida governor was more than happy to risk his health by appearing at Donald Trump’s Sanford, Florida rally on Monday night. And he was willing to risk his health further by declining to wear a mask and slapping hands with the rally attendees.
A video of the moment was shared by activist Daniel Uhlfelder who wrote, “DeSantis has arrived maskless at Superspreader event giving high fives before ending with nose rub-pick.”

Like the president, DeSantis has been more than happy to downplay the COVID-19 pandemic. He told Fox News this weekend, “So if you look now, Florida’s open for business. We have everything — like theme parks, all that have been open for months. And we have kids in school in person. Parents have the option to opt for virtual [learning] if they want, but they have the in-person [option], which is very, very important.”
The state of Florida has suffered over 15,000 deaths from the pandemic so far.
