During Monday’s 1/6 Commission hearing, Liz Cheney read off a number of text messages sent to Mark Meadows that day. Notably, a number of Fox personalities, including Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity and Brian Kilmeade sent the former Chief of Staff notes.

There were also a number of panicked messages from the former president’s son, Donald Jr.. And Trump relative Mary Trump finds the fact that he texted Meadows to get to his father hilarious.
Trump Jr. texted at one point, “He’s got to condemn this sh*t ASAP. The Capitol Police tweet is not enough.” Another message read, “We need an Oval Office address. He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand.”
During an appearance on MSNBC, Mary Trump was asked about the messages by Lawrence O’Donnell. Why, the host asked, did Trump Jr. text Meadows rather than his own father.
“I wish that the answer you had given was the right one, caller ID,” the guest joked. “But in this particular instance, it’s simply cowardice because Donny knew that the message he was delivering was the message his father did not want to hear.”
