WATCH: Marsha Blackburn Says Taylor Swift Should Support Her Because if Socialists Take Over She Won’t be Able to Sing Anymore
Marsha Blackburn is one of the more extreme members of the senate. The Tennessee senator was all in on Donald Trump. Blackburn nominated the former president for a Nobel Prize and was supported his attempts to overturn the election.
Taylor Swift, who lives in Tennessee, has been a frequent critic of Blackburn. But when asked about the music superstar during a recent interview, the senator said Swift would be better off supporting her. She reasoned that if socialists gained control, the musician wouldn’t be able to continue her career.
Blackburn made the nonsensical comments during a recent interview with Breitbart. “When you talk about country music,” she began, “and I know the left is all out now and trying to change country music and make it woke. When I’m talking to my friends who are musicians and entertainers, I say, ‘If we have a socialistic government—if we have Marxism—you are going to be the first ones who will be cut off because the state would have to approve your music.”
The senator continued, “Taylor Swift came after me in my 2018 campaign. But Taylor Swift would be the first victim of that because when you look at Marxist socialistic societies, they do not allow women to dress or sing or be on stage or to entertain or the type music she would have. They don’t allow protection of private intellectual property rights.”
