Marjorie Taylor Greene has said that being a mother is one of her most important roles. However, in her latest podcast episode, she made a declaration that isn’t sitting well with parents across America.
Millions of children in the United States are parented by adoptive families, foster parents, step-parents, and others who fill the roles of parents without actually being the pair of individuals who contributed their DNA at conception. In her latest podcast episode, Greene and guest Alex Stein — who recorded himself sexually harassing Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the steps of Congress — vie to impress one another with increasingly offensive “jokes.”
However, it’s when Greene is talking about children being in “danger” from the destruction of “traditional family values” that she makes a comment parents aren’t taking well — she divides parents into two groups: “biological parents” and “fake mom and dad.”

“…the idea that mom and dad together — not fake mom and fake dad, but biological mom and biological dad — can raise their children together and do what’s right for their children…”
An awful lot of adoptive parents, foster parents, step-parents, and others from families in which very real parents aren’t necessarily the people who contributed DNA at conception, aren’t finding this amusing.
So all those loving foster parents and parents who’ve adopted children are “fake”?
This hate mongering buffoon and sad excuse of a human being (let alone a legislator) is a certified P.O.S.!
My nonbiological parents who raised me would heartily disagree with this creep’s remarks! https://t.co/WNJlZMgFAW

I don’t tweet politics nor usually care about the rantings of a moron.
But as part of a family where we are blessed to have adopted members, her referring to non-biological parents as “fake mom and fake dad” is too offensive to ignore. https://t.co/3je5BTufme

A message to republicans who are adoptive parents,
Marjorie Taylor Greene believes you are fake parents. Will that change your mind on the woman? https://t.co/7twexq93jT

Attention stepparents, adoptive parents, guardians and family members taking care of children who have lost their parents! According to Marjorie Taylor Greene…you are all “FAKE parents”. @Marcus4Georgia spread this! https://t.co/Y75Anh2fCB

. @RepMTG I was adopted when I was 2 weeks old. From day 1 My "fake parents" showered me with love and raised me better than I could possibly imagine. I didn't get everything I wanted, but got more than I needed. They're both better ppl than you will ever be. C U Next Tuesday. https://t.co/cumpLVjFSu

So a woman should not be allowed to get abortions and the families who adopt those unwanted children are fake parents. Did I get that right @RepMTG?
This is what you stand for @GOP? https://t.co/NdJqav5IG0

Greene has, of course, not responded to the criticism, offered to clarify or otherwise correct, withdraw, or address her own harmful and offensive statements, or in any way acknowledged that she did harm with her words.
